what is the proper way to check injectors?

my 90 firebird 3.1 is giving rich exaust errors. How can I check the injectors? resistance at the clip or something. I have an ohmmeter. Also what is the stock # for the injectors on this car. The ones at the Auto parts store are like 80$ EACH. I want to buy some accels or maybe ??

thanks

There is a resistance test for the injectors, although I'm not sure what it is off-hand. You can also do a pressure check. With ignition on, engine off, and a fuel pressure gauge connected, you should get about 43 psi... this pressure should hold (although for how long no one knows). And if the pressure does not hold, this does not necessarily mean the injectors are leaking. It could be a check valve or something.

A popular option (which I went with) is to send your injectors to be professionally cleaned (try www.cruzinperformance.com).
