My fuel line

Yo guys i got a problem that I hope i can get a quick answer to.

Whats the name of the nut that goes to the fuel filter housing? There is a big one and a lil one. The lil one is the one I'm going for. I need it because its stripped..

How can I make it so that I can get the fuel filter replaced? I can't take out the housing because of that rounded nut? Would I have to chop the line and use a rubber hose? I have another fuel housing from a dif 2 barrel v6 carb but it only has the big nut and no line feeding to it.

Im sorry if im too vague but im posting this in a bit of a rush, any help is appreciated.

Ok, so I do need a lil bit of help from you guys

I hacked the line and the new fitting and filter are in. Like a breath of fresh air (or gasoline )

Heres my slight problem though...

the 3/8inch rubber fuel hose im using is being slightly obstructed by the EGR. I'm afraid that it might interfere with the amount of fuel going to the carb. So theres 2 things Im thinking...

#1 remove the EGR

#2 Use a line more flexible than rubber hose

While #1 is feasible, I think if there is a possibility of getting a more flexible line, i'd rather do that.

What would you guys do? Is there a such a line that would be flexible enough that you could bend it more than rubber and not have it make a kink that'll interfere with the movement of the fuel?

I need some help because I'll need to get the car running within the week and I'd like to get it done ASAP

use a longer piece of hose so you don't have to kink it. Though Id run steel braided hose if you can flip the money. Especially around hot engine parts.

Would the fuel pump have a hard time getting fuel to the carb? Since it needs to travel a longer distance than the hard line did and has to move upwards before it can level out and go to the carb. I don't want it to die of fuel starvation (but I hope I don't sound like an idiot either lol)

Is that steelbraided more flexible or possibly thinner than the rubber hose? Cuz for 3/8, thats just the middle part. The actual hose is pretty thick

No your fine. a few extra inches wont make any difference. Your better off with it a little longer then kinkin it off.

Steel braided isn't as flexible, per say. Its just regular hose with steel around it. Protects it from heat n wear.

hahaha, that was my first mistake in my car......I fixed it by replacing the pinched fuel line with a rubber hose right to the fuel filter, two clamps and that is it.

If you want you could take the fuel filter out of the carb and put a inline fuel filter in the middle of the hose should give you some more room to work with. Also i heard that it will give tyhe carb more gas. I am curious if this is actuly true or not someone let me know.
