Fred Gerle needs help?

I asked him about a set of headers for my car and this was his reply. Maybe someone can help

Maybe someone on the bulletin board can loan us a set of manifoldS WITH AIR INJECTION for a week or two while we research this problem The car we used was an 87 and had egr ONLY.

I'm interested in purchasing some headers for my 1988
Pontiac Firebird. The firebird is a 2.8 V-6. I have
looked up the headers online and have been told that
you sell them for my car, however they will not fit on
my car without removing the air pump. I live in MA. so
i need to keep the emission controls on the car, the
way it came from the factory. I was told there is an
egr plug so that can still be used. I have a WC T-5 in
my car with the air pump. I'd like to buy them but I
have to keep the air pump and all emissions related
things on it. I was told there are clearance problems.
Please let me know. Thank you

I would give them mine, but I have pluged the hole, and I doubt the plug is coming back out. I used some stuff that the hotter it got, the harder it got.

The air bungs should be easy enough to install for them or anyone with a drill and a welder. They should be able to do it from pics.

I'LL LET HIM KNOW RIGHT NOW
Shame we won't get a reply until next week!
To everyone,
I was able to get a set of street legal headers made.
Constantly I asked for help in any way for any variances so a broader selling product could be produced & approved, same time.
The R & D of this street legal header project isn't exactly cheap.
IS A PICTURE AVAILABLE OF THOSE A.I.R.MANIFOLDS?

The more pieces of the exhaust manifold variances we can supply, the better product can be made!
Thanks for ALL help
Please send me that picture, I'll forward to Fred Gerle for us. Or yourself, please email, too!

Yup, just think....they may be able to have jsut one set of headers made & come w/ 2 options: pipe plugs for non air-pipe apps, & a different egr stalk for the 3.1s.

Just received an email from him:

We will pay the freight for someone to ship us the manifolds and see if we can add air injection fittings. Also, it would be helpful to get some pictures of the stock manifold with the air rails installed. That'll help us with any clearance issues we have to address. What do you think?
FG

I would send out mine but my car is a daily driver
What do you guys think
