melling mtc-5 vs crane h-260-2

which cam is better? Will these cams work with the stock computer with 1.6 ratio roller rockers? I talked to some people with the h-272-2 crane cam and they said they dont recommened this cam for a stock car with low compression so i narrowed my cam choices down to these two cams. Will either of these cams have a lopey sound or at least more sound then a stock cam (noticible difference over stock).

Seems like barely a tad more than the MTC-5 -

278/288 SAE
204/214 @ .050
.422/.444" lift

The Crane ramps up quicker than the MTC-5, though, from what I can see... is the advertised duration @ .006"? If so, then yeah, the Crane will make more power.

How much is the 260 kit?

Cripes.. in that case, it ramps up REALLY fast! It should make more power than the MTC-5. How much? I can't say, depends on what else ends up done with it. I would say an order of 5-10hp, over the MTC-5, all things equal.

I had the crane cam 427/454/112 LS in a 2.8,it,s idle is almost stock but it did perfrom well with a 390 holley 4bbl. G.M. has a 427 /454/109 LS cam The 112 LS has it's power more on top end,the 109 LS more mid range.

Tho this may not be the right answer,
insert a 3.4.
It's got the better cam & more bore & stroke, too.
Add the rockers so desired, to increase the stock 3.4 cam.
