A.I.R Pump on 3.1

Would a car pass semi-strict emissions tests with the air pump ripped out but the catytylic converter still on? How does the air pump come out? What else is needed to yank it out of there besides the delete pulley?

Smog pumps go for about $20-$30.
Just replace it.
Loss in HP is minimal.
I too hate those A.I.R. tubes on my 85 Blazer, but not a true big deal to live with.
AND PaceSetter Exhaust is working on a header set up with those A. I. R. tubes.

unless its broke, let it be.

Gains will be so minimal for your efforts, you wont really notice.

If you ever cracked one open, you'd see why nothing is gained or lost by this pump.
It looks just like a pin wheel in a metal housing. Only pushes air.
If it works, leave it alone, keep the belt in good shape.
