you want to make a copy of your ignition key, and you want to know how to be sure the microchip (resistance) matches?
there are 15 different "Chips" or Resistance
use a Ohm meter to find what your key is.
get a blank key with the proper resistance
have it copied like a normal key.

sweet. I have the origional pic, but lost it and have been looking for that lol. Actual need.... not stealing a car.
Why was it banned?? that is some damn good info to have. How can it help you if you're trying to steal it, you don't have the key to look at to see which one it is.

any locking device based on knowledge is eminently doomed... this applies to every form of lock from VATS to computer encryption.
if knowing how it works makes it ineffective, its useless.... that’s why (before standardized encryption), the first question i used to ask software vendors was "what is the encryption algorithm?" if they wont tell me that, or knowing that fails it, then its useless.
assuming they know, there’s only a 6.6% chance they'll get it right the first time.... after that, its a 4 min wait. anyone that wants to learn it can do a GOOGLE search and find it in 30 seconds.
99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the people here looking for it, need it for their personal cars... that one person out of a thousand... still has the VATS problem.
it would be ignorant of people to not help others on the basis that it might be used to steal a car.... its like saying " dont tell people how to take the radio out..." lol.

LOL, no kidding!
Hey, for what its worth, if I did have VATS in my car, I'd be bypassing it and installing a damn good alarm with a hidden starter kill- but that's just me.

have the wrong person pay attention one time, and its useless.
or more likely,
forget to set it one time......
thats why i love vats... a simple starter kill that works automatically without any user intervention.
