Score!!!!

Well, as most of you know I bought the 3.4 mill to put in my current 3.1. But, as luck would have it, my girlfriends boss at work currently has a 92 RS sitting in his back yard with a broken rod and he just doesn't have the time, or the money to fix it. Said it ran perfectly up until 3 months ago. He is really anxious to get it out of the back yard(his wife that is). Told me I could have the title for $350 and the cost of a tow. All in all I'm looking at around $450-500 for a complete rolling chassy and engine! I'll be swapping the 3.4 into that RS and just keep using my 3.1 for my daily. SCORE!!!!

Both, or the new one?

Put the 3.4 in front of the stick shift

my 3.1 is an auto, I'd still like to add all the bolt ons I can to that one, just to try and touch 15's with it. Nothing fast but faster than it is. Now as for the stick with the 3.4 I'm gonna just really work it out. As I won't have to worry about legality of smog certification anymore, I plan on deleting a lot of the free mods and just use it for the track. Now I know most people would just say, drop a V8 in it, but, I'm not looking to run 12's or lower, but I figure with a turbo kit(doward I'm looking in your direction ) I would like to try 14 or better. It seems like its quite the challenge to get these sixers into any decent territory with times, and I'd like to have something I'm proud of. Not to say that I'm not proud of my current 3.1, at 140k its the most reliable car I've had. It's gonna take time, and money, and money, and then some more money but still, it'll be fun.

I hope so, I got a chance to look at it. Paints a little faded, and there are the normal wear and tear dings. But all in all, no rust, and the interior is decent, until its gutted .

ive got a 3.4 w/ a stick and a few mods done. as soon as my posi is in, ill be probably around 15.7s or so. last time i went to the strip, i couldnt hook up at all, my best time was a 16.13. that will drastically improve. im just waiting on my axle shafts to get here and im finally in the 15s!!!

its a huge difference w/ a 3.4 in there, before you put it in, you should do some of the cheaper things, like roller rockers, cam, cooler t-stat, etc. then you will really notice a difference.

One night, then, you can drive one car to Pats and the other car to Ginos!
Really great going for ya!
As long as ya got space to do work you are set!
And you now have a spare 3.1 core engine to sell to lower your initial costs

Thanks guys, my parents have a house in the pocono's with a pretty decent size garage that they are going to let me store the car in. Its a trip up there, but, I plan on going up for a few days at a time to really get started on this. I started to dissassemble the engine today while its sitting driveway, and I had a question about the fuel lines. I'm taking off the intake manifold, but I got to the fuel rail and didn't know if the pump kept working even with the battery off. I know, stupid question, but I don't want to take the fuel line off of the rail and have it spewing gas all over. Thanks in advance.

Pump only works by activation of the key.
PS Disconnect battery for extreme safety anyway!
Lucky I hope to be moving to Poconos within a year.
