Does the 3.8 fit?

How come no one recommend the 3.8 V6? Does it not fit?

I haven't done it yet, but I do plan on dropping in the 3.8 Buick Turbo into my 89 RS Camaro. It has been done, just no members here reporting it. Just a few small adjustments to make for the engine mounts, and rear end. Depending on tranny you have may or may not need to swap that out to, but the adaptor for the 700R4 is perfectly fine. I just need a new rear-end and to get the turbo's and intercooler and ECM for the 3.8 Buick block my friends holding and it'll be good to go. It should be a sweet set up when finished, twin turbo 3.8 V-6 in a 3rd gen. Fun should begin in October when i get everything I need all bought and collected to start the project.

Why run twin turbo's on the LC2? There is no need, you'll be making more work for yourself.

Two turbos doesn't always=more power

It's an 86-87 GN motor. Was rebuilt but his car was wrecked before he had a chance to drop it in his 91 Firebird. I'm gonna try a dual set up after I get the single working. To try and see if there's any gain on it. I'm also converting to exhaust to a true daul pipe set up instead of the Y to the muffler then dual tips. If it's faster it's faster, if not it'll stay a single. But dual's would be nice. Just another twist in making it different.

To each their own I guess.

I'd do plenty of research on the buick boards about twins. Most guys will tell you it's a lot of work.

How are you going to with true duals on that?

The duals are a thought for now. The dual exhaust will be done though. There's a twin turbo T/A on one of the buick sites that has no problems, I'm gonna look more to him for advice on it. But the plan itself for the turbo 3.8 is a go, as long as I have the $$ to finish getting the parts I need. The biggest thing is the computer for the set up and wiring harness. Turbos and an intercooler that will fit I understand are not that hard to find.

hope you realise you won't have any kind of exhaust clearance. chances are you will crush the pipes on the first speed bump you drive over. they are all but impossible to do on our cars.....
i checked in on it for my exhaust upgrade, and decided not to cause i want to drop the car 1" in the future, and if i did that, i would have litterally no clearance for dailly driving!

I've seen true dualls on 3rd & 4th gen cars. For the 3rd, on this board too, they ran the same path as stock, but exited just before teh pass rear tire & were angled out & slash cut for ful bad a$$ effect.

i'd like to see how that one was done, come to think of it i did see a 3rd gen with duals, on it, but that is just too many bends for me. imo ture duals means duals, x or h pipe, and straight pipes, not all those bends.....
