Swirch from FI to Carb

Just wanted to know if anyone has done this transformation and if so how difficult was it. Not really worried about the gas mileage since this is my toy but rather it will be easier for me to hype up since I am use to cab engines. Will this have a major affect on the computer or what?

you could go old school and completely discard the computer. ive never really looked into it, but i gotta imagine you can get a fan or wire up one so you can run w/ no computer. the v8 guys do it all the time, not to brag them up, lol.

It could be done pretty easily, but why? Its not going to make enough power to be worth it, the mileage will suffer, and driveability would be out the window. You could easily fix anything wrong with the FI system and computer controlled ignition for the cost of an intake, carb, and distributor, and have a much better car for the effort.

not so. cause you can tune your fuel and timing so much easier on a carb.

like go with the performer 4 bbl drop a 2 inch spacer and add a scoop. go with a mallory dist, coil, box and accel plugs and wires.

As said the effort is wasted.
UNLESS YA GET the change over parts for free, why bother?
You can fix your EFI set up so much easier.
Add the costs up first before ya pick up a wrench.
Or just go buy a 1983-1985 Blazer and have at it, as it's already carb'd

Found the bolts....the size is 8MM 1.25 X 60MM. Only problem with them is you have to pull the bottom half of the Carb to get the bolts in. On the other hand if you were to use a 1 inch spacer you could use a little shorter bolt that should just slide right in.

I had to use a 1 1/2 inch spacer to clear the linkage and to do that I had to stack a gasket or two.

I will let y'all know how it goes when I get the extra gasket tomorrow.

I'm learning while ya typing & trying
Hope it's worthwhile.
I can't see why not due to this is "what edelbrock did" for "their" version of the factory 60* V6 intake.

dude, do you need a aluminum spacer, you pay shipping, and i make you one out of aircraft aluminum next duty day. just send me a gasket and that is what i will make it to! save you the whole "well maybe it will work, maybe it won't" from the start!
(besides i like doing one off things like that!!!!
