Remote oil filter mount to take a PF52?

Hi guys, does anyone know of a remote filter mount that will take a PF52? All I see are mounts meant for the big Fram PH1's... I really wanted to keep with a PF52.

Hi TomP:

The V6 Chevy Corsica 1989 uses a filter mount compatible with the PF52 & PF47 filters (PF47 is the PF52 short). If you take off this filter mount, you can bolts the filter direct to the engine block too, using the same special bolt included in the filter mount.

per Denis comment, while at the yard today I looked at about a 90/91 model v6 corsica.

Mounts to side of engine like ours, but holds the filter vertical. I couldnt get the one of the corsica, but I could get one off a cavalier z24 which is same engine, mount was same. So really, its a FWD v6 mount for a 3.1/3.4.

I have it cleaned up. Measurement from bolt hole to bottom of pf47(short filter) is about 5.5. Once my engine cools off I am going to jack it up and do some measurements. I dont have a pf52 (long filter) around so I dont know how much deeper it is.

Can get pictures, or part number for anyone interested.

btw, to get it off a parts car, you will need to remove the starter. Bolt that holds mount to engine is 15mm, and its on TIGHT!!

-Yes, the mount holds the filter vertical.

-But, I used a 15mm. socket + an universal joint + an extension + the wrench + too many force (UFFF...) without removing the starter.

- PF52 = I think PF47 + 30% longer...

Other (VIP) very important piece is the gasket between engine block & filter mount. Without gasket you'll see your new oil in the floor under the car (I saw it!).

ok, but with the headers it will not work. Short filter still hits buy a good 1.5" or so.

Yes, must have the new gasket

Well, wait, guys! I want a remote mount... I don't want to change the mount on our engines!

Or are you guys saying I can make my own remote mount?

The remote mount I found (on the headers message) took a huge V8 filter... the kind that's the size of a coffee can. That's like the "standard" for a remote filter... even my remote trans filter took that huge filter.

I've found remote filter mounts that connect to a PF-52 engine, but none that take a PF-52 at the remote end (if that makes sense).
