V-8 Swap?

I am looking at a 3.1 w/a 5-speed. The engine is seized and I am wanting to do a 350 swap. My question is will the 5-speed tranny from the v-g work with a small block or is it easier to swap in a t-5?

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
try the search button...

this has been beaten to death...

Now, try to think if a 60* motor flange will fit a 90* motor flange...

If you think they can, go for it...

I saw info on the automatic tranny swap but nothing on a 3.1 with a 5-speed to a small block. That is why I was asking.

dont let them beat you up, but do try a more thorough search next time. Cuts down on multiple threads with the same subject.

And the answer is no, that tranny will not bolt up.

LOL, I was thinking the same.

Now, if you haven't bought this car yet, don't, go buy a factory SBC car, cheaper and (usually) more relieble than a conversion car.

I should have thought the question through before I posted. However a simple yes or no would have been sufficient. Rather than mocking someones question with another question.

The 6 cyl T5 has the same bolt pattern with a different input shaft. Can have a V8 clutch disk fit with a V6 hub. Check the tranny boards lots of folks have done this. The threads will have the clutch manufactuers that they used (or just call around: RAM, McLeod, CF, Zoom).

Will need to use a V8 bellhousing.

i didn't think the v6s cars had a removable bellhousing? I was under the impression it was a solid unit unlike the 2 piece V8 T-5???

There are differences in T5s too. There is less difference in 700R4s than there are in T5s.
