90-92 3.1 EGR Rerouting

Hello, So i got a 90 camaro and ordered pacesetter headers since they are supposta work with the 85-90 cars, but apperently there actualy 85-89 cause my egr stuff wont work with these, good news is that the egr ports on the headers are on the same side as on the supercharger, So now my question is where can i find detailed information on this egr stuff? Id like to properly reroute it to work with my new setup to keep it all emissions legal, i have the digital egr on my car unfortunitly, i think itd be easier with the older style, maybe ill just do a block off plate then do up dummy pipes for visual inspections and when i do the custom chip disable egr functions, that feasible?

The digital EGR that i currently have running in my car will not work with the pace setter headers i have (part # 70-1206), i just took the EGR out of my car to see if itd bolt up, it is too wide for the flange and the bolt holes dont line up

Did you swap theadapter stalk over as well? The EGR it's self will not bolt up. You need to move both over as a unit.

i havnt swapped anything, just took my spare egr and took my headers out of the box to see if itd fit cause the flange looked too small, there is no adapter plate included and i remember the exhaust manifold being one soild piece so i dont think you mean anything on there, i can fab up new pipes and brackets to fix this problem, im just curious why im having it when apperently i should not be.

I think they're talking about the peice of pipe that runs from your manifold to the egr.

Yes, you have to have the stand/podium/stalk, whatever you wish to call it. Even if you have a 2.8 for the "Correct year" for the headers you have to do this.

Neither of the egrs 2.8 vac or 3.1 digital bolt right up to the headers.

you mentioned "to keep it emissions legal" and "visual inspection"...i bet they'll notice the blower sitting on top of it. it doesn't have a carb #, does it?

i believe it does, the booklet said it was emissions legal, ill have to search for the eo # though, it has all the hook ups for the s-10 egr stuff and im currently researching how the egr passage is routed through the manifold so i can make it work with the camaro/custom stuff

from the supercharger manual "this kit operates in conjunction with emission control equipment furnished with the vehicle.care must be taken to properly install the kit as described." im assuming that means its emissions legal, hoping at least, im designing the intake to have the egr hose connected to it so although the parts all may "just" look different the design will be the same as far as function goes, maybe i can get the carb # or whatever its called from fageol

be careful and do your research if the smog people will check the numbers because that number might only apply to s-10s or sonomas or something. again, if you're state is strict on that kind of stuff, make sure to do your research.

well i already got the car emissions tested in january and im good for quite awhile on getting retested, but my old exhaust use to leak from the manifold and the cat when it was tested and they never cared, just that the emission numbers where underwhat they were supposta be under, i dont think we have visual inspection here in CT so im not worried, if they said for blah blah reason you cant run that, cant i get it registered as a composite car or would they count it as a 05?

oh, if they don't do a visual, you should be ok as long as you can get through the sniffer.

The Charger is in Florida at my other house. Im doing a custom turbo setup tho. Got a T3/T4 and Im gonna make my own turbo header, Y-pipe, downpipe and the rest of the exhaust plus a custom plenum. I was gonna do one of those Fageol superchargers but couldnt get the money so I ended up here.
