v6 3.1 rotor, fit 305 v8??

hi i am getting a v8 iroc camaro not sure of year yet,,i was just gonna get it cause its only $200 and the fact the local junk yard said they would sell me only the rear end i need for $200,, So this way i get the whole car,,,to my amazment the guy said it still runs,, he says it only needs a distributer rotor,,,the only reason he is selling is cause he has leagle troubles and the tags are out of state and way past due,,im actually pretty stoked,,and cant wait to look at it.,.,

Any way what ide like to know is >>Will the spare rotor i saved when i changed mine from my 3,1 r/s work or....

Im guessing you all will need to know the engin specs such as year and engin size.,.,amd till tomorrow i wont know but will it work on any 80's model v8 camaro??

i have no idea whether or not it would work, it would be smarter to grab a new cap and rotor and swap it anyways
