My TTA #396 makes it in Feb. 06 issue #29 Hemmings Muscle Machines! *Pics*

It's finally out! Feb. 06 Hemmings Muscle Machines. They did the shoot on my car near the end of October. Came out really cool. The shoot was a 3 car comparison. My TTA a GNX and Ferd SuperCoupe. I scanned all the pages and put them up on my site so feel free to check them out at this link.. Click HERE Click on the thumbnails then when that opens on the top right you'll see a pull down box to make the size of the picture bigger (1024x1330) so you can read it. Was a awesome time and once in a life time experience for me! Was really cool to see me and my car in Hemmings! Rock on F-Bodies! Enjoy!!

Awesome dude, I'll make sure and spread the word.

I love you TTA guys cause you prove several points but disguised in a Fbody package.

Buicks Rule.

The 3.8 was built like the 4.3, they took a 350 Buick and widdled it down. Last two year some smart folks realized this and said hey, if a 3.8 Buick is this fast with only 6 cylinders. Can two my cylinders be even faster?

Yes it can cause a 3.8 turbo can pump out 700hp with little mods.[They can do more but past 700 the stock block get weak.]

With just a little work they found out a turbo 350X can pump 1000hp with little mods. Though even most of Buick is still stuck on the BB455.

but 2+2 does =4 in this one case.

Which doesn't happen that often in the GM camp.

Though the 60* motors still have a bunch of un-taped potential.
By the numbers a 2.8 can turn 14000rpm easy, if the parts wouldn't fly apart. But it has the bore n stroke ratio's needed for hi rpms. Funny has it there is only one motor with a better bore to stroke ratio, 4 cyl iron duke.

Ok next on the soap box

Thanks Gumby! It's all true! The nice part about the 3.8L turbo in the TTA is the car is lighter and handles one hell of a site better then the brick Buick it was first in. PAS did a great job with the conversion. Allot of GTA / Pontiac guys don't like the fact it's Buick powered but I make a mark with it when I'm out. I always seem to get that Mustang behind me thinking my car is just a clean GTA. Then when they have their a$$ handed to them that have a whole new respect for the Pontiac! I owned a 89 GTA back in the early 90's and loved it. Then I bought the TTA and fell in love all over again X 100!

Thanks!! yes there is nothing like being shot out of a cannon when you drive anything with that little turbo 6. Like the Buick article said... The turbo Buick went from the little engine that could.. to the little engine that could kick your a$$!

I didn't make it to Hoopers.. I wound up hanging around the house with Dick Clark ( poor guy ) and watchin the madness in NYC.

My buddy said it best, how do you beat somthing that can go to the drag strip and rip 11's all day long, and still get more than ten miles per gallon. Then fill up at the pump and drive home with the AC on.

Just some random quote

That's the beauty of these cars! I took a trip to a friends house this summer. I live in Philadelphia and he lives in Toms River, NJ. (hour and 10 mins away?) Well I took the back roads for the most part so I was around 45 / 50 mph the entire way. The converter was nice and locked up. Down and back 1/4 tank of gas!! Try that in a big block The best is I whooped on a Rustang on the way home as well. They were rated 17 city and 25 on the highway!

Thanks for the compliments Tony! Keep looking out and you'll get a TTA! The prices on them are all over the place right now but if you look you'll snag a nice one for a decent price. I figure they made 1555 of them. Then break that down to how many T-tops leather.. 1,324 gotta wonder how many are still around!? I've owned mine one year next month and I know of 3 that were destroyed just last year!
It is a really fun car to drive. The look on people's faces when you put a *** whoopin on them is the best. They really freak when I tell them it's got the stock air filter in it! Gives them a whole new respect for the TA! Thanks again!

destroyed?!?!?!? who would do such a thing? fools.

and actualy that makes my search hard. i want one of those 200+ w/o t-tops. i hate t-tops. my GTA is a hardtop and it looks so much more mean then cars with t-tops. more sleek. more areo-dynamic (looking that is). i supose i would "settle" for t-tops if i had too.

stock air filter! nice work.

One TTA was wrecked.. and 2 of them caught on fire and burned to the ground!

Hardtop TTA's are hard to find!

Hardtop Leather 24 made
Hardtop Cloth (base) 15 made!

I had some IROC's and another TA back in the mid to late 80's and they all were T top cars and they rattled and made noise and all kinda junk. The only thing they were good for was the girls! They use to love driving around with the tops off. At first I wanted a hardtop TTA as well but I got really lucky. My T tops don't make a sound! Not a squeak.. rattle.. nothing. When the guy from Hemmings drove it even he was in shock and he's been in a number with T tops. So I got lucky there for sure! I know of one hardtop cloth car not that far from me but it's impossible to get ahold of the guy to go look at it. I've tryed a number of times. Maybe one day!
