my car is dead

well im not sure really but im hoping i only broke a lifter or rocker arm/or possibly wiped a ex side lobe on my cam.
was racing a golf vr6 gti from a light first gear was fine shifted at 7,400, and as im comming up threw second at about 6,800 rpms the motor got real ruff by the time i got off the gas at 7,100 it sounded like a loud *** tap like a lifter colapsed.reason i think it is something in the valve train is my air fuel gauge was bouncing along with the taps in the engine. well ill find out for sure tom when i get to work ima get the car inside and pull the valve covers and take a look

goodluck, dude. mine did something similar to that back in may...i think it was a piston ring that busted (still haven't torn into it that far cause it still runs; pulled the heads but not the crank/pistons). i didn't look at the a/f guage when it happened but i was up probably over 6k rpms, too. let us know what you find, though.

well if its more then just that im going to drop in the 358 sb motor, ahead of schedual, which is gonna suck cause i wanted to get the car painted before i did the swap, but if thats all thats wrong with it.Im serously debating on droping in some dished pistions and building a custom turbo kit , and saving the 358 for the drag only camaro im building, though im sure when tha done it will see some street time lmao

did you just mill the heads to get to your compression? or did you do a piston swap?
