time to decide. get a 3.4, keep 2.8, buy TA, etc
Little over a month and a half and I'll be home. No job sadly, but that'll give me a chance to work on the firebird I guess.
I want to strip out the interior and check for/fix any rust. Also need replace the rear window seal, door seals and maybe the t-top seals. One leak was creating a small puddle in the front right side floor. The other drips onto the back right seat now and then.
I have surface rust on the bottom of the car I need to sand-blast or something and re-coat.
The r/side exhaust manifold leak I also need to fix. I was planning on getting a 3.4 and doing it then when I also install the headers, but......... I plan to get a TA and also keep the firebird.
So, instead of searching for a 3.4 and spending however much on that, I may just put the headers on the 2.8 because I'll have the TA to take care of my power needs. The 2.8 still runs awesome and gets great mileage as it is anyway.
Then I need to decide if I should pull off the heads too and have them polished, since I am going for all the MPG I can get.
The other issue is the whole job thing (or maybe school, gotta look into that) sure I can easily afford the TA, and I can tow the quad trailer too, and I can use it as an excuse to maybe get a loan to pay off and improve my credit (which is kinda bad I think)
But I do have the nova sitting there (my cheap side says don't buy another car just yet), it's just lacking things that make it a nice daily driver. Fuel gauge, instrument lights, interior, heater, window and door seals, one headlight. etc.
The nova wouldn't be as bad if it was summer time. Apr will still be a bit chilly at night though.
4-6k for a 4thgen TA is easily affordable too, and I'd be more tempted to take my time with the firebird and do the heads too, and we all know how much better things turn out we take our time.
And that's where I am automotive wise anyway. Had to get it off my chest.
