Tonight's agenda... (pics!)

I haven't filed any more rings since my last post on the motor

I'm lazy, sorry guys

Anyway, tonight's agenda is to finish file-fitting the rings (DEFINETELY WORTH DOING - they are ALL over the place, out of the box!), and get the ARP head studs in... might just have to show off my new PermaTorque Severe Duty head gaskets, too

Rings done, so that means:

Yea they tend to all come oversized like a 350 for example the box will state 4.00 but further to the right it will have another number that doesent tie into things that just says .10, .20, .30 some will just say 4.00 and stick a 30 somewhere on the box.

Curious though are you running any special ring gap to compensate for boost or is it a stock gap?

Stock max gap is .016" top and .028" bottom.

Out of the box (the 10 20 30 40 etc you see are the oversized rings, if you've bored out. Mine is .5 mm ~.020" oversized to match teh pistons) the gaps were averaging -

.010" top
.013" bottom

I'm running -

.022" top
.026" bottom

Increased gap for the boost

C'mon Doward, I haven't had a V6 in years, but I constantly check the V6 board just to see updates/progress of your (seems like never ending) build!!!!! I do a search and all I find is this 2 1/2 month old post!!!!!! I need updates, I need you to say the motor is running, and I need dyno numbers/quarter mile times!!!!!!

LOL, I'd like to - but I've been so busy between work, school, clutch on the Honda, and working on the Supra, I haven't had time to do anything it seems!

I'll have the Camaro running again this summer
