Started my build...

Well I just got home not too long ago with my new/used 2.8 V6 long block... Ive already got the heads ready to come off and will soon be going out to get Ported & Polished... Before they go out Im gonna see if i can use the drivers side exhaust manifold upsidedown on the passenger side for my turbo manifold... I checked it out first with gaskets and everything looks like itll bolt up.. Only problem will be clearance but I dont think anything will be in the way.. I still have to buy a rebuild kit and get ahold of some 3.1 internals to throw in there instead of the 2.8's... I got my hole drilled in the oil pan for the return line from the turbo but I still have to weld on a fitting... I also bought some aluminum pipe to fab up some fuel rails for my custom intake... Everything seems to be coming along great and I hope to have the engine in my Camaro by the end of April... Pics will come as soon as I get another battery for my digital camera..

brilliant

beats paying 400+ for a custom fabricated exhaust manifold.

Well the heads are gonna be completely ported n polished.. gonna get a bigger cam.. better timing chain.. hopefully sbc rods.. gonna get the lower intake ported.. stiffer valve springs so the valves dont float.. prolly get it bored .010 over.. custom plenum and TPI throttle body.. T3/T4 turbo.. ported exhaust manifolds.. thats it I think.. Along with a rebuild kit of course..

Well I found a 3.1 stroker kit for my 2.8... its about $500 and Im gonna get the pistons oversized.. Not sure what size yet but its looking towards .040... I should have some pics up by the end of the week of the engine thus far along with my turbo and manifold... Intercooler should be arriving next week its a 28x10x3.. Also got a Turbo XS type H BOV that will be here shortly.. I found a cam that I want but Im not sure if itll be compatible with my setup... Ill prolly send out the heads next week..

yah thats a screaming deal for crank + main bearings

pistons + premium rings + rod bearings ~$300-350, so if you dont really care about the new rods you would come out a good $100 on top. but if you want the rods the kit is a decent deal anyway, so go for it.

Well the rails that I got off the FWD 3.1 are differant than ours.. The injectors are spaced alot differantly.. Im sending out about $700 worth of money orders today for all my parts.. I might have pics of my dissassembled engine later today..
