Header bolt questions

So Im getting ready to install my headers and have a few questions that I couldnt find the answers to. First I read to soak the bolts in PB Blaster before removing them. I heard doing it 48-24-12 hours before helps a lot. My first question is, since this is a daily driver will the heat of the engine running burn it off and make the process useless? Next, I know I have 3 broken bolts. Say I cant get them out, has anyone just put a nut on the remaining threads? Would that be ok if I cant get 1 out? I see no problem but Ive never done this before. Thanks for any info.

yes running it will make using the PB Blast useless..And if cant get the bolts out.. take it to a machine shop to have them removed.. The bolts will not torque up right with just nuts on them.. ( Threads may not be deep enough in the block ) And if your driving it every day with 3 broken bolts, there a very good chance that you have warped the heads... And you will need to have them decked so they will make a good seal once back on..

definitly have the broken bolts removed. If you can't get a good seal, you'll have exhaust leaks. Believe me, they suck.

Please explain the logic in that.

Well driving around with 3 broken bolts( I'm assuming head bolts sense he didn't say other wise ) the head heats up and expands with = force spread across the bolt/studs ( depending on set up ) But if there a gap in the spread that not suppose to be there.. the expanding is than un= to The rest of the head.. and since the expands area cool at a different rate it will cause warpage.. And if You think I'm mistaking, than take it to a machine shop and see for yourself ( Or if U have a true straight edge you can test it your self.. )

I have over the years rebuilt Inboards and outboards.. And a common mistake I have seen for shade trees is thinking the other bolts will do the job by them selfs..

hmm...pretty sure (or 100% sure) he's talking about exhaust manifold bolts...not head bolts.

Yeah that's why the warped head commenbt made no sense to me.

If there was three broken head bolts, he wouldn't be driving it around.

Sorry I guess I should have been more specific with my wording. And the broken EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT () positions are, 2 on the #5 cylinder and top of #2 cylinder. So here is the problem, I dont want to pay $400 to have a guy put in my headers when I could do it myself. That, and I dont have $400 to throw around. So if I end up getting all of the bolts out but the three can I put a nut on those bolts to at least get me to the shop to have them drilled out?
Also will just putting the PB Blaster on the afternoon/night before do enough or will it need more time?

lol...its alright man, I've been there on the long day thing plenty of times.

As for the PB blaster deal, I say soak them then if you have to drive the car, go drive it...its not going to hurt anything. well, let me rephrase a little. I wouldn't go drive the car right away after spraying them down with blaster. But, if you spray them down after you get home from school or work or whatever (after letting everything cool of course) then drive the car the next morning, you're not going to hurt anything. It might smoke a little but nothing serious.
