Ive been hearing mixed answers with this question and was wondering if someone could help.. Do shorter length runners give you top end power, or longer ones? Thanks

If I remember correctly short runners give you top end power, but low torque suffers. Long runners give great torque down low, but kill top end power.

Correct me if I'm wrong. (As if I had to ask)

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
^ yes you are correct.

Most runners under 4-5" are killer top end, decent medium nothing down low.
You go to 7-8" and up and the extreme swings the other way.

An example, look at the stock L98 runner length of around 7-8 range, then look at the same engine with the holley stealh ram 4-5" intake on it. The stock intake kills the HSR on the bottom end (up to -22hp), but once you get above 3500 the HSR absolutely demolishes (+26-up) the stocker.

So would 6 inch runners be good on a 660?? What are the stock lengths?

well 2 on the top. 4-5 intermediate. 1-2 head. so around 8-10"

To answer the question is impossible. What is good for one person is bad for another.
Yes this is another one of those "personal preference" things. It depends on where you want the power, and whay type.

yes volume does play a part. But with everything being equal or close to head port size that rule applies.
In turbo apps even more.
