forced induction on a 2.8?

people say they make them, but does anyone sell like supercharger or turbo KITS for these cars? i like superchargers but actually, im leaning toward nitrous for the best bang for a buck.

doward makes a turbo kit, and you used to be able to find superchargers from fageol, but they are pretty rare

if you want a supercharger for a 2.8, its either gotta be custom or you have to swap over to carb, theyre found here and there on ebay from time to time. there are no kits aside from dowards kit. no companies make any kind of a forced induction kit for v6 3rd gens with fuel injection.

'Splain why he would have to switch to carb to run a supercharger.

I think he's refering to the fageol blower which is a roots style, pull through blower, so you'd either have to swap to a carb or TBI unit. Although you could get around that, that's the easiest way to do it.

sorry, i should have been more specific, yes thats the one i was talking about, my bad. but there are no kits out there from companies for us, sadly.... although, theyd probably charge twice as much to buy as to build one. "3400 swap kit, a steal at only $6000!!!!!!!!!!!!", lol

if thats the one from puerto rico, yeah, it leaves a lot to be desired. they want $1500 for their kit, but theres only half (if that) for the kit that doward offers and the turbo isnt as big as dowards.... which IIRC would work better than their kit. do a search for their kit, i think the general thought on it was that it wasnt worth the money for the average installer.

yeah its is.and i was under the impression that it was the same turbo that doward used when i talked to him about it .its the same turbo i bought for my setup.it was figured out that that turbo is capable of pushing atleast 18psi+ on a 2.8.more then maybe a few ppl would build there engines up for.but ther ekti does lack fuel management,an intercooler, and some other parts that u would need to get the most out of a turbo kit.hell my whole complete syetem well minus the computer tune cost me a few hundred $'s

LOL, yeah, the turbo kit from BBS includes the same turbo I use

Mine comes with intercooler, fuel management (not an FMU, either, actual ECM reprogramming) and a downpipe, which I believe the BBS lacks as well...

If you have any questions, ask away, I'll answer everything I can

i read your other post, did you end up getting the 10 orders? if not, when are you going to try this again? if at all...and if i got it, my motor is a pretty much stock 88 2.8 with 72k miles, probably should rebuild it right?

if you want nitrous, the have these things called NOSsels in the Summit Racing catalog, they make them for 4, 6, & 8 cyl, engines with FI, i think they attach to/replace the fuel injectors.... hope this helps
