V6 roller cam
I found a hyd roller cam for the V6, and I'm curious whether anyone has tried one of these.
They don't list much in the way of specs.
I have an alum head 3.1l from a '90 Corsica (FWD) that I might build up.

Thanks

roller cams will not work on the RWD 60*s without extensive machining. the oil galleys are too small to feed enough oil up to the cam, so ive read. i think doward posted something on this a while back.

I tried searching for a thread by doward with info on that... no luck.
Also the # shown on the first post is supposed to be a link, click for more info.

grab a welder, some stock, and make a mount for the (gen 2 or 3) fwd block to fit in, or buy the aluminum 2.8 bow tie block. either will give you improved oiling for roller cam

I'm a lot more familiar with th V8s than V6s.
I already have a FWD genII (I think) It's a '90 3.1l from a Corsica. alum heads, splayed valves...
I can't help but wonder what it is about a roller cam that needs better lubrication than a flat tappet cam though??
Is it the journals?
In the V8 they're interchangable with the right parts, and it's always been my understanding that the flat tappet demanded more oil than a roller.

I have been searching and making calls to try to find out anything on the above mentioned cam, and all I've been able to get is that it's the factory stock hyd roller for the 3.4l v6, which I assume is a 60deg.
You can click on the part# in the first post for a link. But there is very limited info there.
I'm hoping that someone here can tell me something.
If the numbers are in the ballpark for a good economical street engine, I'd get one and adapt it to work in my block if possible.
My block is a 2nd gen 60deg 3.1.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

all RWD 60* v6's are hyd. flat tappet, there was no factory hyd. roller. the fwd 3400, probably, but thats a differnet monster, a good hyd. flat tappet will do good, dont get a cam that you dont know any specs on.

What would a good cam be for a supercharger?? I know for turbos you need low overlap.. Is there any special grind needed for a supercharger as well??
