GM High Torque starter(s). Goodbye, heatsoak?

GM Performance Parts High Torque Mini Starters: NAL-9000852 - summitracing.com

Can anyone comment on these? I haven't seen many people talking about ministarters for the V6. I've been looking for these for awhile (to go with perf. headers), and they don't show up on Summit when you do a search for our engine, but the fit chart shows a match.

I just read somewhere on the boards that these may come stock on some s-10 or blazer or some such thing.

anyone ever tried these? I imagine one of these will fit... staggered or inline?

Anyway, comments?

Wow! That's a lot of good info. For some reason, I didn't see anyone else talking about using the v8 ministarters. I guess that makes plenty of sense, now that I think about it. Thanks for the in-depth response, that's pretty darn useful...

Everything was perfectly helpful, thanks.

Though I'm still a bit curious about anyone's opinion of the 'GM performance' starters.
