If you disconnect the MAF the computer defaults to fuel values stored in memory for a particular throttle position. This will kill your gas mileage and power. Leave it connected.

As for the body kit..... lol.

Uuuum. Yea. Well, you're truely best idea would be Aluminum driveshaft, 3.5in i believe from the newer gen. cars, a 9-bolt borg warner Posi-trac rear with new gears and stronger cover, and some other weight loss options. Beings as the 2.8 is one of the worst motors Gm in recent years, I suggest switching to a 5.7 lt/ls1, 3.8 from a Buick regal (80's) or a 3.8T from a buick Grand national (good luck w/that..) or a 3.8 from a transverse car of the 90's (regal GS, Gtp/gxp) all of which would be cheaper and better than rebuilding the 2.8, but some thinking and fab work are involved to. And it requires a lot of knowhow, or something will break. the tranny will have to go with a motor swap more likely than not, but u can keep it for parts. The Rear and shaft are used on those, though :-) Erm.... gl?

the buick 3.8s rock. and it wouldn't be hard to put one in either. just use the tta mounts............and that is the same for the buick 3.3 and 4.1, plus there is alot of profo parts for the 3.8 and 4.1

so what about the 3.1 they dont have a maf they have i think a map right so if i was to get a map and install it to the 2.8 and take the comp from a 3.1 would it read any different im thinking no and yes?? i ran a while without a maf because it costed about $70 bucks almost but i used a cold air intake cone from a integra and slapped it on the throttle body seemed like alot more power but what happen was started getting darker smoke from exhaust and sounded different like when u tighten down push rods not enough lol haha but i did see a different change in power wish it coulda ran with out the maf cus its all bull crap with the memory ****..

of course the differance was a stock air cleaner and then the open air cleaner, less air in on the stock more air on the open.
without the maf the comp comp goes to limp mode and was dumpin more fuel then needed so with the open air cleaner it comped it for a lil but the everything started carbinin up and all b4 it started to run like crap.
hense the trouble with computers, it's all plug and play till you start takeing things away. also why I like non-comp carbs
