Sensor Question

I was looking at my 2.8 block today and saw something I think I over looked. There is a sensor at the rear of the block on the passenger side that I didn't swap over to the 3.4. Should I have?

Thanks in advance!

only if you want your fans to work.

That is the emergency fan switch. Its not a temp sensor per se, it just closes when the engine hits 245* to make sure the fans turn on in case you loose the normal temp sensor in the front by the thermostat. I don't use mine because I broke it. My car is driven once a week and I'm always watching the gauges anyway.

Thanks fellas! I think i'll pass on worrying about that then. I'll jst watch the gauges being that I barely even drive it. To be honest I don't even think it was hooked up anyway.

ok, If that is the emergency oh **** switch for the fans, then where the heck is the sensor for the temp guage? I was told that was it... there is a sensor I just found in the front of the drivers head that has one green wire. Is this the guage sender?

well in my car they both have a single green wire coming off them. But I heated my car up a bit and pulled the wire off the sensor in the front of the drivers head, and my temp guage maxxed out. guess i pulled and replaced the wrong sensor a couple months ago....hmmm....... looks like Im gonna be swaping it out again.

the one that screws into the intake is for the gauge, the one in the pass head is for turning the fans on and off. i had a problem getting a good connection w/ mine so i just wired in a toggle switch and now i control the fans. there isnt an "emergency fan switch"
