EGR Valve
My engine idle is slightly erratic and it dies sometimes at a light. I don't think that it is a vaccum leak somewhere else. I had the vaccem system worked on three months ago plus I sprayed carb cleaner everywhere to find one. The code just popped up yesterday. Is there a way to diagnose if it's the valve or solenoid?

try a search for EGR, i remember there being a diagnostic flow chart posted somewhere on here by someone a while ago. i think it was dean (he had lots of screen names) or possibly KED85. but i definetly remember it being posted a year or so back.

Front page of thirdgen.org "Tech Articles" - "The lowdown on code 32 EGR" Will help understanding.
Problem could be vac leak, stuck open or closed valve, vac modulator (aka vac switch) - EGR solenoid, etc.
Vader posts a lot of flowcharts too, wouldn't be surprised if he has a 32 chart out there.
While your idling at a light your EGR valve is not supposed to open. Its only supposed to work at part throttle and the car is moving or when decellerating. So you could test it by pulling the vac line to it and plugging that vac line. If it doesn't stall - well there ya go, you've discovered that your car is opening your EGR valve at idle when it isn't supposed to. However if your EGR is stuck open, that won't tell you a thing. It also won't tell you if the EGR valve is somehow being blown open by exhaust.

I went to the junkyard and got one that works. Mine wouldn't hold any sort of pressure but it still moved freely. The new one holds a vaccum fine. It was more like it wouldn't open when it was supposed to.
Did the search of the code and EGR and I didn't find much for it. Nothing that I was looking for.

could be a plugged vacuum line causing your problems. may wanna check that out, be careful not to snap them or youre in for more fun
I get the same code, but that's probably because my EGR selenoid/valve and smog pump are laying on the side of the driveway, lol. It doesn't affect my driveability or seem to bother mileage, and the code only pops up once in a while (actually only when I jump the pins).

That's exactly it. It'shasn't come on in a couple of days. Only once in a while and doesn't afect diveability.
Funny, mine came on today while driving for the first time since the smog/egr delete. Got home and saw 32. That's the least of my problems right now, pretty sure I have a broken valve spring.
EDIT: Good thing I have four other cars, lol.
