Ok so i bought a 1990 RS Camaro. Its a 3.1 v6, it has 115,000 miles on it, just had a tune up, spark plugs, wire, fluid ect.

I live in CA and i was wondering what could i do to get the most out of my engine, with it able to pass smog.

It runs strong, might need a new tranny soon...but im loving it


I really want to drop a turbo in it or nitrous, but i need it to pass smog.

 

Hey, can't really help with your problem but just wanted to drop in rq and say nice lookin car. I got a 90 RS myself, that's a nice paint job, have fun.

^^ Ya that's what I did to mine, actually my dad and his friend whose a professional painter. Took them a day or two and they turned out really nice. Maybe I can scarf up a picture when they were pink...haha ill have to get back on that one. :P

but what your saying is the only turbo i can put in my car would have to be a custom turbo and it wont pass smog?

how about nitrous? and what are the laws for having it, i searched google but didnt find anything helpful...

Every turbo setup for our cars are custom. I think that nitros is illegal in Cali.

Yeah nice looking rig and a good price too. I just bought a 90 v6 3.1L that had 22,000 original miles on it. Put flows on it and flushed all of the fluids because it sat for over 10 years. The tranny was a little rough but once i flushed it it rides like a beauty. Paid 3k for it from a guy from sonora california. Nice price? What do you think?
