Cold Air Intake sensor
Hi,
Today i just put a new air-intake on my V6 2.8.

I know what to do with the sensor how was in the box with the old air filter.
But i dont know what to do with this on

Axle/Gears: 4th 10 bolt hope fully it last
just cut the little metel band that holds the sensor on the on the stock filter canester. then clamp the high flow filter there instead. then cut your intake about 6-8 inches shorter. then just coupler the maf to the tubing

Cold air intake sensor? Is that like a sensor that detects whether you have a cold air intake installed? 
That is your mass airflow sensor. It monitors how much air is going into the engine so that the ecu can calculate how much fuel to give it. If you remove it, the engine will not run as nice and your SES light will come on.

remove the section of chrome pipe that I boxed in yellow and do as suggested above by putting it here.

Only other thing that I THINK might be an option would be to convert to Speed Density, but if it would even work I really don't think it is a viable option after you by the parts needed.
Just outta curiosity, did you originally have the dual snorkel intake that went over your upper rad support? I ask as that same snorkel feeds the 5.0 and 5.7 just fine, and it draws air from in front of your rad so it already is a cold air setup. More so than yours now is. heck with a couple PVC elbows you can make it a cold air / ram air setup pretty easy.

No i dont have a snorkel intake originally. I just have the basic stock one.
And i get this chrom pipe for free a while ago and i dont like wasting lool

But ok i will cut it

He has a bird, they didnt get the camaro intake setup cause of the slope of the hood did not allow for the intake to fit.

IMPORTANT!!!
the MAF (mass airflow sensor) is a resistance curcuit. when you splice in extra wire to strech out your plug BE SURE it is the same guage. also be sure that when you strip the wires no little bits of wire come off. if you loose even a few copper strands that can effect the resistance of the curcuit and make your MAF read wrong. some people even go so far as to melt the wire insulation off with a lighter instead of trying to use wire strippers.
also if you live in an area with little rain you canaleave your chrome alone. just cut a hole in that bettery tray and drop the filter down through it, then slap the MAF between the filter and tha chrome.
if you live in a wet climate i would not recomend this as the water tends to ruin the MAFs. if you still want to cut the chrome you can always use a T/A TPI piece for the MAF and have it mount to the upper radiator support. see attached image.

1st, I notice you are in Cali. If you get pulled over with that on, your screwed. They will also not pass you on smog test with that.
2nd, most of the cheaper "performance" items on ebay are a joke. They sell the same part for most/all of the same cars. A true direct bolt on for your car is non existant. If it did exist, it would be fairly expensive.
3rd, Look at the design. How is that sucking in cold air? It doesnt. Its sucking in hot engine bay air. That is more of a "ram" intake that just removes most of the restrictions.
You could have built a similar system for the same price or less from home depot or lowes like many here have. Sorry to bust any bubbles and sound like a mean ***, I'm not. Just giving you

My air intake = $50
My list for this car will be :
-Rims or paints the stock one in black
-Drop it 1-1.5 Inchs
-Ram Air Hood + Air box
-GTA rear spoiler
-Paint job (Black)
Then Probably a Strocker kit or if i can find help a Turbo

the "gas pill" and the tornado are also highly recomended... but they don't do a damn thing.
just mae your own. home depot will cut the PVC for you if you ask real nice. i can even give you dimensions from mine if you like. it's real easy to make. plus then it is black instead of screwy looking chrome that is going to rusty over inside of a year.
