3.8 swap
3.8 swap
anyone know anything about swapping a 2.8 out for a 3.8? Do they use the 90* engine mounts like the 4.3s? And what about the trans bellhousing bolt patterns? I have a t5 out of my s10 will it bolt up? Any help would be great

if youre talking the series II 3800 out of a 4th gen camaro or firebird, do a search. or just do a search for pretty much any 3.8/3800. its all been covered time and time again.

every time someone asks about the 3.8L engines they fail to say whether they are talking about the buicks(231ci) or the chevies(229ci) and if they are talking about the rear wheel drive or the front wheel drive ones
the old chevy 229ci 3.8L v-6 engines, are the same as a 4.3L, and as a 200ci v-6 too,
all were RWD
the buick rear wheel drive 3.8L was the 90 degree 231ci
the FWD were 3800 and the RWD were 231ci
these engines were back in late 70s to mid 80s years in the camaros, caprices, malibus, G bodies and other RWD cars too
it is quite confusing to those who dont know about gm v-6engine history and changes,
i am going to assume youre not talking about the front wheel drive garbage in which is a whole different world from the rear wheel drive world
do searches on this forum and on google and on wikipedia, all the answers are out there and have been discussed a billion times
there were many different 3.8L engines designed and produced from the 70s on up, some 60 degree and others 90 degree and some chevy only pattern and others not
look at these
