wierd issue, help

wierd issue, help

ok. i get in my car last night. crank her over, and she wont fire, so i hold the pedal and crank, and it runs great, let off it, and it died, basicially the car ran normally but wouldnt idle. so i drove with 2 feet around town and the problem stopped about 10 miles later and now the car idles. wtf?

Sounds like you have a vaccum leak somewhere.

sounds like you might have a clogged fuel filter if you had to keep the pedal down for it to run. either that or vaccum leaks are very common.

yeah i do have a small leak somewhere, but i dont understand why its running normal now? i need a new exhaust mani gasket too but i figure ill wait and when i do it ill use headers...

It sounds to me like there's a sensor going bad. Vacuum leaks don't just go away, but sometimes sensor come back to life on a temporary basis. Check the TPS and do the tap test on the MAF. Unless you have a DVOM that can read frequency, you can't check the MAF output itself.
