Crank pulley wobble

Well heres the problem when i went out today to check the fluids in my car i noticed that the crank pulley and balancer have a wobble to them. There is no noise or anything but it has me worried. There is no oil leaking from the front seal from what i can see and the oil level doesnt drop. So my question is do you think its the balancer making it do this or is the crank bent.

Thanks.

Re: Crank pulley wobble

Most likely the rubber material in the damper is coming loose,if so get a new damper right away. Also check the bolt holding the damper to the crankshaft.

Re: Crank pulley wobble

Mine does the same thing, but only at idle. It's got less than 1000 miles on it. Do they normally wobble a little at idle? Could it be just the whole engine wobbling at idle? Sorry to jack the thread, but it seems like a relevant place to put this

The pulley/balancer should never wobble...period. If it does, then there is something wrong.

Re: Crank pulley wobble

How could it be messed up? Could I just have gotten an defective unit? It came already on my GMPP 350 crate motor.

if u keep driving it like that, your crankshaft will be trash, or a rod could snap. Had that same problem, then it started knocking from the bottom. Good Thing I broke the engine down before something else happen, just needed a new crank. Like 2_point8_boy, and Maxboost....

id definetly have that engine checked out, but make sure that GMPP is gonna cover the bill for having it checked and, if needed, replaced. better be making a phone call tomorrow dude. good luck

Re: Crank pulley wobble

Hey guys sorry I havent come back to post in a while Iv been really busy. I got the new harmonic balancer on and eveything seems good and theres no wobble. Cost me 79.00$ from autozone for a new balancer and everything went back together smoothly. Thanks for the help with figuring it out.
