missing PS pump bolts, is this okay?

so I replaced my water pump on my 91 RS, 3.1.

ofcourse the PS pump was on the way so I took it out of the way.
now the bolts that attaches the PS pump to the head(or upper block?)
seems stripped.

I was wondering if I can get away with that..
PS pump has 1 bolt that attaches to the water pump,
and 2 nuts holds the pump in place through brackets.

so with those 3bolts attached,
is that 1 bolt that directly bolts to head absolutely necessary?

If it protrudes into the oil passage, yes it is necessary.

I just can't remember off the top of my head which bolt had evidence of oil on the end, I could look for you tomorrow if you haven't gotten an answer yet.

Re: missing PS pump bolts, is this okay?

hey 1stfirebird thx again.

I just finished puttin the new water pump in,
but I couldn't seem to align the PS brackets
and screw in that 1 bolt to the head,
and ofcourse the thread went bad..

I feel lazy caz even if the thread was good I feel like it's still a PITA to
align the hole and the bolt and screw them in
so I was just wondering..

but if its possibly connected to the oil passage I should go buy a bolt.. thanks!
