Your better off fabricating your own, there's plenty of material out there to work with. However, if time isn't on your side, eBay has a couple of decent CAI out there to consider....

Welcome aboard Matt.

Re: new intake ideas ??

if you have a couple hundred to **** away, go ebay. otherwise, do a search and find how to make your own for under $50. sadly, firebirds dont have the same setup as camaros. just do a search for custom CAIs. you should be able to find it all out. Please dont go ebay, lol.

Here's a tutorial on how to make your own CAI and the materials needed

http://thirdgenmods.firebirdv6.com/coldair.html

Does the Dual Snorkel that Camaro's use work on Firebirds? If so I have a Dual Snorkel for sale. You'll just need the tubing to go from the DS to the Intake and 2 clips

I would definitly go the route of making your own.
I made mine for about $50
$10 for the 3" metal tubing from an exhaust shop.
$20 for the filter
$12 for the silicon connectors.
$A few bucks - Some metal clamps and paint
I attached a picture.
Once you have all the materials, its like Legos. Nothing to it but putting it together.

i got a question for u guys, on a 3.1L (i dont know about 2.8L) there appears to be a sensor on the stock OEM air intake canister. if u did away w/ that sensor will a SES light come on or will nothin happen?

Re: new intake ideas ??

Yeah, 2.8s have that sensor, too.

Its the IAT (I think thats what they call it, Incoming Air Temp.) Or maybe its AIT (Air Intake Temp) Either way, it tells the ECM the temp of the air comming into the intake.

For a while mine was just wedged between my filter and smog canister. As long as it is reading a temp roughly the same as that of the air going into your intake, you're fine.

Now mine is somewhat pushed through an opening bringing it next to the headlight and I actually went out and bought a mini-filter thing and put it over the cage looking plastic part so it's held in place and looks a little cooler

But yeah. Its ok even if you just leave it sitting on the metal panel where your filter will be.
