my daily driver is driving me nuts!!!! i know nothing about this FI junk!!!!

driving home from work this thing just shut off!!! wait a few secs starts right up, step on the gas under load shuts right off????

things i changed and checked

1. ign module(new)
2. cap rotor wires
3. cat is not clogged(straight pipe now) sound like ***
4. no check engine light at all
5. fuel pressure is at 40 psi and does not go down when it dies!!!
6. fuel filter(new)

today go outside starts right up, put it in gear start to power brake and it shuts off? it runs fine but just shuts off? anyone have any ideas what else i should be looking for?

 

happend to me it was the ground to the block

 

where is the ground to the block?

 

when it shuts off does everything else in the car still work? i.e radio lights etc
does the car shut off like u hit the key? or does it run ruff then die
i would lean twards a bad connection at the battery/starter or a broken gound

 

everything still works, it shuts off like u shut off the key!!!

 

hmm i would say get a spare spark plug and pull one wire off and plug it onto the extra plug lay the plug on the itake and start the car it will run ruff but atleats u will be able to see if the spark is just cutting out all the sudden.
what brand of ign mod did u put in?
u could also prob the 12 volt line to the coil while the car is running with a testlight if the testlight goes out when the car dies then u know the coil is losing power

 

i bough the module from pepboys and put all the grease under it. this thing is driving me nuts!!!!!!
