60 compatability

I imagine this has been asked a million times but the search came up with "no results" for everything i searched lol...so i apologize in advance...

So...I have a '92 3.1 V6, and will be getting some cash soon and like always I have mod-fever...

So what exactly is compatable from the 2.8 and 3.4...correct me if I'm wrong

Headers? I assume yes
Pullies? yes
Ignition? yes

Internals? not a clue

Re: 60 compatability

Internals : The same crank as a 3.1 (except it has a reluctor wheel on it for DIS), different sized pistons.

Re: 60 compatability

Your best bet is to just use the 3.4 block and heads and then re-use all of your 3.1 accessories.

Re: 60 compatability

I was just wondering if I bought aftermarket parts for the 3.1...I could use them in case i ever swapped a 3.4...or if I can buy parts "for the 3.4/2.8"

seems like the 3.1 gets forgotten about

That usually means 2.8-3.4, not 3.4 and 2.8 specifically

meant to say either the 2.8 or 3.4...

Another question...will 4th gen 3.4 headers work on a 3rd gen?

Since the 3.4, 3.1 and 2.8 all use the same heads, ther is no benefit to using 4th gen headers.

Re: 60 compatability

I'm a cheap bastard...

If I can find some cheap 3.4 headers for a 93-95 fbod...will they work?
