Re: Exhaust vid of the V6

It was shot with a digital camera, so the video quality isn't the greatest. The pipes are 2.5".

I believe those were old Corvette rally wheels from mid 60s. They are way too skinny for my taste. I just wish my car could be a "mean lookin' son bitch"

depends on the piping size. bigger you go the more you lose, smaller same way. just have to find the happy middle. you wont feel a difference. trust me. just the 2nd most anoying sound in the world next to hondas. stock system is the best for daily driving sounds good and works fine.

Re: Exhaust vid of the V6

i'd have to say i like how when the v6's idle they sound like a v8... other than idle there is aHUGE diff but i mean what can you exspect its a totally diff motor. Nice sound out of a v6 though

Re: Exhaust vid of the V6

Oh yeah, for sure. At idle I honestly can't tell a huge difference between my setup vs. a V8 setup (properly done) and I actually love the way it sounds. But at WOT they sound completly different. But not in a bad way.

they sound horrible at WOT at 4k rpms . i do like the idle i'll admit that, when they're nice and warm they sound even better than a V8 at idle and when you start her up when shes warm its sounds badass

i agree. I'm doing a v8 swap in my camaro but one thing i will miss is the mean idle of the 6. In high school everyone thought i had a v8 in my car, because i rarely got on it. One of the best compliments i recieved was from a guy that drove an 89' bird with a 305. he said, "I wish my idle sounded like that."

I don't think they sound horrible at WOT.

The difference with your motor and ours is that its a 3.8. Yours is a 90* motor versus our 60* motor. It does sound nice but both motors sound entirely different IMO.

the 3.8 is the exception to the v6 family, i wouldn't mind having a supercharged one of those. the bad part is they're a pain to put in and not worth it. 1996-up ones btw, the GM and TTA shouldn't be hard at all.

I would love to swap in a series II 3.8 into my car. They have more of an aftermarket than our cars and as fas as I know nobody has swapped in a series II.

I have seen someone swap a 3.8L from a 1998-02 V6 F-body but I forget where online I saw this. And yes they have a huge amount of performance upgrades
