What can i beat?
Re: What can i beat?
Hmmm...not too much. My only kills worth mentioning are a
1997 Mustang V6 5spd
1986 Camaro 305TBI Auto
1995 Civic EX 5spd
We're pretty slow..but I'm surprised I won those two...

Maybe a tractor.

You can get the 2.2L s10's for sure, along with many other econoboxes.

Fastes 3.1 I have heard of comming through here was a 15.1 with suspension mods, gears, and otherwise being stock. With just a muffler and gears, I would expect low 16's MAYBE.

Re: What can i beat?
you gotta remember the 2.8 stock is 135HP ported and polished heads, depending on the quality of work would be maybe a 20-30hp gain (and thats a big maybe) so your looking at 160HP wich would put you still below most.. why did you put 4.10 gears in there? should have kept the 3.42 you had and went turbo. (being an 88 you may have had 3.23 though.. so I can see why..) either way, an engine swap is in order if you want to be serious about performance. the 3.1 and 3.4 RWD from later fbodys are preaty much strait drop ins. hawks has 3.1s for 350 plus shipping. Thats what I got, and and in the process of saving up to rebuild it with turbo aspects.

Re: What can i beat?
Not much. You may be able to hang with newer (as well as older) 4 bangers that are stock and older 6 cylinders. Remember, you are driving a heavy car, so the 160hp you are maybe making on an old motor (probably closer to 140hp) in a car that weighs 3400lbs is almost the equivalent to say a Honda that is making 130hp but is 2800lbs. Just keep that in mind. It's hard to make power in a V6 unless you are going forced induction.

Re: What can i beat?
I beat my friend's 94 V6 5-speed stang. I not only beat him, I killed him. he has duel exhaust and a CAI. I got a stock 2.8 with a catback and headers, ignition upgrades, and other little "free power" upgrades.
