brake line replacement

Has anyone ever had to replace the metal line that runs the length of the car? It looks like the line running to the back brakes is leaking, it seems it has a hole. All the lines have been resting agianst the floor and it has started to rust and that probably caused it.

I guess my big question is there are these clips that hold four lines together and they won't seperate. How do you get the lines apart? Also what are the four lines? Iwould assume that atleast two of the lines are for the gas but what is the other one for?

Re: brake line replacement

the big line, 3/8od is the fuel supply
the smaller 5/16 is the return fuel line
there is a 1/4" line going to the charcoal canister for the tank vent
the other 1/4" line is the brakes
there is 1 bolt holding the clamps to the body, take the bolt out and the clamp will bend apart. if the are old and rusty, they may break.

You can get the line from FineLines, i would call in the order, they are VERY slow looking at email. the quality was good, but it needed a little tweaking up by the prop block, nothing big. and you can get them in stainless, no more rust!

I replaced all my lines when i did my engine swap just recently. the brake line and the vent are not bad, the two fuel lines run overtop of the trans and would be a real beach to change with the motor in
