Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
So i took a look at the Aftermarket sticky thread and was wondering if the Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler was the best or just an option.
I'm looking for something that will give me a good deep sound. I don't want something that will make my car quiet to the point you barely hear it running.
It's a 90 Camaro RS, 2.8, Pacesetter headers, Dynamax Hi-Flo Cat, Stock size exhaust pipe.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Re: Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
I just put a Dynomax cat-back on mine. I still have a few kinks to work out, but so far I'm happy with it for what it is.
It's not very loud though, and I don't even have a cat (previous owner gutted it). If you're looking for volume you may want to look elsewhere. I've always like the sound of Magnaflow, but even they are pretty tame sounding until you really open it up.

Re: Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
I have the Dynomax catback. No complaints here at all. IMO it sounds great at all times, idle and while reving/driving. Ive been told it sounds like a v8 at idle. Its loud enough for me, but im not into obnoxiously loud cars. LINK <--That was a good thread about the exhaust options.

Re: Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
I used to have a Dynomax on my car with no cat and pacesetter headers. I now have a Magnaflow single in/out with a high flow cat. It is much louder than the Dynomax. Very little rasp with either setup when driving.

Yeah same here, I got the cat back too. I would also get a new high-flow cat as well while youre going to be under there. That might help your sound a little too.

Re: Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
Okay great thanks for the input guys.
I'm not going to order from the cat back since I already have a new pipe running from the cat to the muffler. The only thing I THINK I would need would be the pipes coming out the muffler.
Thanks guys.

They sell those individually too on summit, I believe that they are made for the Dynomax also. If not there are lots of just muffler and exit pipe kits for sale on ebay.

If you order just the muffler make sure your I-pipe is 2 1/2 in. The stock I-pipe is 2 1/4 and the muffler is 2 1/2.

F*ck. Didn't even think about that since the muffler was posted in a stickied thread that was suppose to be all for v6's.
Anything I can do to fix this because the order has already shipped.

You could eather order the new I-pipe or you could go to an auto parts store and get a 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 reducer pipe. Something like this --> LINK

Get a Borla adjustable catback and save the one on your car. When you get rid of that car, or get another f-body, put the Borla on that one.

Well, what I'm going to do is just switch on over to the 2.5 piping for the I-pipe and Tailpipes.
Thanks for the help from everyone

Re: Looking to get a muffler...need opinions
I've got the Pacesetter headers, Catco 2.5 high flow cat, 2.5 I-pipe, and a 2.5 dynomax single in/dual out muffler.... and it's a bit too loud for my tastes. It was great until I got the headers. Those are what pushed it over the edge.
I'm thinking about a turbo muffler. I've heard they're usually quieter.

i love turbo mufflers. they're actually a lot like glasspacks. there cheap, and have a nice resonating tone but they also make almost any engine sound good.
