Going by Fieros only having a 2.5 or a 2.8 engine and you having a 3.1...no.

I bought my kit for my 2.8 from them. Lots of options to build yourself a strong engine, and reasonably priced.

You can use a 3500 FWD crank and have the rod journals turned down from 2.499" to 1.999" and you will have a forged crank
I have two if you want one $75 plus shipping (has 23,000 miles on it).
The 2.8 pistons will not work in your 3.1. The pistons will stickout of the block because the wristpins were moved to allow the same rods to be used in both engines (and allow the longer stroke).

If you hang on to that till after I get income taxes (or my bonus check from work, which ever comes first) I'd be quite interested and willing to pay some more if you can have it machined and then sent out (I dont know of or trust any machine shops around here)

It would replace your 3.1 as well. Or, you could do this one:

I can't believe that once you add machine work in, you could do better with that kit listed above...

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would rebuild a 2.8. Look at this first:

I rebuilt my 2.8 for $800, including all the machine work. Shipping is another $165 to my place on that engine, for a total of $1052. I could do better than that even if I had to buy the parts to be machined.

But all of those parts are NEW. I can't see beating a new engine for less than 900 bucks. With warranty, I'm sure the shipping is extra, but I see people routinely pay hundreds at the machine shop.

Re: will this rebuild kit work for a 3.1?
I'm not rebuilding a 2.8, i'm rebuilding a 3.1 and was going with forged internals so as to add boost. I've already bought a 3.1 from hawks now I'm just trying to find a source for forged pistons, and I saw those at the feiro store and figured it was worth a shot. for 1800 bucks i expect more than 194 ft/lbs TQ...
I'm looking for at least 250TQ to the wheels when its all said and done. i'm hoping for 200+ wheel HP also. (nothing insane, I'm looking to rev to 7500RPM but if the parts to do so come cheap enough then I'd like to have them so I know I can rev to 6500 consistently.)

Most NAPA's are a trustworthy machine shop.

Re: will this rebuild kit work for a 3.1?
I think what people were trying to say is that that kit is or the 2.8 v6 and the pistons are different. You probubly already know that by now, I just thought Id throw it out there anyways.

Yea I figured that part out
I'll definitely take you up on that here in month or so. (if sales stay good I should be getting a 450$ bonus.)

Re: will this rebuild kit work for a 3.1?
Demonknight- you can't use the probe pistons unless you have them milled down to fit. Not sure how much you'd need to mill it cause I don't have the piston specs. Someone in germany did basically the same thing to a set of flattop 2.8 pistons to fit them into a 3.1 a while ago. He only had to mill them down .1325" and I would imagine the probe pistons would'nt be too far off from that.

Yep, I'm not a fan of fwd either. Ironic that ford has their own 60 degree v6 they put in the probes. The vulcan v6's are based off a diesel block though, and don't have nearly the part selection you do with the gm 60 degree.
