Measuring resistance on the chip in the key - Need Help Quick!!
K, so I'm measuring the resistance of the chip in the key in order to bypass the VATS for now.
If I put the meter to the 20k setting (see in pic) I get a reading of 3.66
If I put the meter to the ->+ setting (see pic) I get a reading of 1.116

Which reading do I go by?

go by the ohm 20k reading, i believe last time i needed a key there was only a few different readings, and the 1st number changed each time so its pretty easy to work out, i googled it for all the info

id say the higher the beter, isnt it how much power it can take before melting ??? as long as the resistance is right, i dont think the car passes big power over it to worry??

If you have a chip burner you could disable vats in the bin and completely bypass it altogether.

The wires that connect to the ignition cylinder are most likely broken yet again. Garbage design if you ask me.
Well I scooped up the 1/4 watt resistor. It does make the car turn over but it seems like I'll be getting yet ANOTHER effin starter for this car since it sounds like it's binding up. I'm so tired of doing this **** it annoys me to no end.
