V8 alternator on V6

V8 alternator on V6

my alternator just froze up.

will a v8 atlernator off a 89' firebird fit in a 92' v6?

And old board member Dean installed a V8 high amp alt on his 2.8. He had to make his own adjuster bracket.

You can also just replace the front rotor housing half with your old V6 part. Your rotor is most likely still fine even though your back bearing is seized.

Once you take the alternator apart, you can press the rotor out of the front housing half if your rotor is damaged and then put the V8 alternator together with the V6 front housing half. The hardest part is the paper clip to hold the brushes in while you assemble it, and that's easy, too...
