has anybody put in a t56?
has anybody put in a t56?
Like is says has anybody ever swaped a t56 into there v6 camaro?
How did it work out.
I think this will be prefect for my project. i think i will call it either
2.8t or iroc-t.
So far the suspension steering and brakes have been switched over to iroc parts.
Soon to be on the list is a 3,4 3400 hybrid turbo,
hopefully with a t56.

Re: has anybody put in a t56?
they make 26 spline clutch disc that are 9.125 in which is the same size as the v6 disc just the v6 is 14 spline, my question is the what starter would you use.
Re: has anybody put in a t56?
Ah i see why its so quiet. Wrong idea of how to do it.
Thanks for the that tip about the clutch disk. DO you know what the common application ( ei like 89 toyota celica 5sp) or part number is so i can order one?
I was going to try and find a bell housing adapter plate that adapts the v6 motor to the v8 or ls1 bell, and then i found something even better.
They make a trans adpater that adapts the t56 trans to the t5 bell. So this way you can use your stock bell with hydaulics. Every thing stays the same, you just change the clutch disc and trans for a t56. You also need to have your drive shaft and torque arm shortened 1.5 2 inches.
The how to.

Re: has anybody put in a t56?
I am not sure what t56 i will use. There has been one sitting in the shop for about 8 years. Appears to be a low mile pull out. I will check it out and see which one it is. I believe its a lt1. SO think i may have to get a different input shaft. Cause the lt1 input shaft is alreadly 1.9 inches shorter then a t-5 and then with the adapter plate that bolts between the bell and the trans. It would probly be 2.4 inches to short.

Check these guys out:
http://0174de9.netsolstores.com/
They mated a t56 to the 3.8s in the 4th gens. I think that they are the same bolt pattern for the bell housing. I would look into it. I'm way too tired from traveling all day to find the exact part. If you can't find it on there then search on www.fullthrottlev6.com for the swap.
