Cold Surges
Hey all, feels good to be back on the boards (been away for a while) and it's amazing to see the tons of turbo projects that went from just talk, to talk and walk, and drive away, really awesome stuff here guys. Neway, i'm brining my car out of hibernation and need a little help working out a poor idle situation.
When the car is cold and started, it'll idle up high, then slowly drop back down low, but as it gets low, it nearly stalls (sometimes does) then the idle will jump back up to the 3000 range, then drop back down to nearly stall out, then back up, gradually, the idle becomes better, and the amount that the engine falls down to is a little higher, and the amount that the engine revs up to is a little lower, until it finally finds an idle.
I redid the vacuum lines from the charcoal canister up and through the EGR and back, checked the lines from the brake booster towards the plenum, the cruise controller, and the orb of power, all seem to be in pretty good shape, might replace some of them tomorrow however.
Also have the thoughts of the IAC valve, so, i'm thinking i might spend some time cleaning it tomorrow. Car had been sitting for a while, so when i started it yesterday, it had it's issues, which seemed better today, but just have to get this thing figured out so the car can become an occasional daily driver again. Thanks for any help...
