Re: super charger maybe
some people have made the M90 from a T-bird work on the 60v6 since it can be mounted remotely. You can get upwards to 16psi and with some pulleys and porting you can get 20psi and it is efficient enough and creates boost in all the right places a charger should.

Re: super charger maybe
those will work with either carb if u have one meant for blow threw setup, or fuel injected, finding a blow threw carb for a v6 may be a lil tricky though,

Centrifical is the way to go for ease of installation, Eaton for cost if you can fabricate.
I have a nice GM Eaton that's ported by about 1mm and has new bearings/seals installed if you'd like, but it's not as easy as the Ford units to retro-fit to your car.

Step 1: Remove 2.8 or 3.1
Step 2: Install ford supercharged 3.8L
Well at least thats the route i'd go if i were determined to have a quick "cheap" V6 f body, more realistic V8 swaps aside.

Why even think about modding the iron heads when 225whp has been done NUMEROUS times on the 60* GM platform? 400+hp has been done with boost and Gen3 top ends.
The Ford motor is even a worse idea.
I'll be dissapointed if mine doesnt make 250whp N/A

Re: super charger maybe
It would be easier to install the T-bird M90 in a camaro and it has been installed in a Fiero so its just a matter of how good you are with a welder. Right now all my money is going into rebuilding the 3.4 in the firebird and rebuilding the T5 in my 92rs but I have a the said M90 and intercooler. I have sized it up on all the cars and the easiest one would be my 78 monza but there isn't many chargers that could handle 10,000rpms so installing it in the firebird is a given unless I score this 87 trans am then I could put it on there. Ported and pulley on the M90 could get you alot of psi and really early since my budy had a supercharged t-bird that thing would scream and it could run with the V8s but I remember he got spanked by a turbo saturn (mini tub well hidden and about 28 psi and one hell of a sleeper)but with a stock set up ran 210hp 315tq and exhaust system that made our stock system look like it was made by flowmaster.

M90 would work the problem is making your own custom intake manifold. If you put a custom manifold and nice aluminum heads it would be a beast with a M90. Does a M90 even make a sound lol? Kenne Bell would wake people up. Then again you can also remote mount the M90. Either way life going to suck trying to make a super charger work. Turbo FTW!

Re: super charger maybe
The M90 is not that great. it was designed for a 3800 motor that doesn't breathe. The 3x00 heads would be a better option, that with a turbo makes some nice power. I built a nice turbo kit for a 3400 with 3500 heads, and it keeps blowing transmissions. Winds to 6500rpm no problem, 6psi by 3500. The guy is now talking about selling it before putting another trans in (3 since Dec).

Re: super charger maybe
The M90 has a AWSOME sound and I will say it again that the ford M90 is just as good as the GM and alot easier to mount than the GM counterpart since air goes in the back and comes out the top and it is real basic.

Re: super charger maybe
You can tell the Ford M90's by the fact that the intake and discharge is on the top/bottom. They cane in the Thunerbird S/C 3.8L, mounted remotely already.
The one I posted a lik to earlier in the thread is a GM M90, where the TB is on the opposite end of the snout - making it a bit more difficult to remote mount.

Re: super charger maybe
actually the intake side is on the back of the ford m90's and I was putting that in different places and it is possible to mount it on top with alot of fabrication. I might just put it down where the air pump use to be because loosing ac is not an option.

I know what a GM M90 looks like, I drive one almost every day.
But that didnt look like the mustang or Lightening S/C either as they still have rear entrance like the GM one... however, the rear of them unbolts and you can fab up your own inlet very easy.

Re: super charger maybe
Depending on the mileage...a rebuild is good. And you will need bigger injectors and give your ECM a tune or a FMU.
Also, it wont just bolt up. It has to be mounted over the valve cover and routed to the throttle body. It will have to be a custom job.
:EDIT: I know its on a V8...but the concept is the same. It will be done something like this...

Re: super charger maybe
thats the corvette one isnt it?
As for the TPI motor.... I'm surprised they didnt put the TB on the inlet side of the SC. But then I guess that setup is more like a "turbo" style plumbing.

Re: super charger maybe
I will see if a top mount is possible even if it is like a thunberbird setup you will keep AC and it will look pretty good.I have heard of guys running 9-12psi on stock 3.4 pistons and if you go forged you can get more. I was saving that m90 for a old school 3.8 and 4spd combo in a ultra light auto X car but I think a 3.4 and 700r-4 in a firebird would be a little more fun considering I have a cosworth 4cyl for auto X. People will tell you that turbo's are more efficient and if matched right will have like no lag but show me a turbo that keeps its efficientcy while giving boost at 1500rpms and can give you 20 psi at 5000rpms and give you the loud whine. As far as most people consider turbo or supercharger I like having my power where I will use it the most.
