up shift light

does any know how to make the stock shift light work i tried putting a bulb in there because it didnt hat one but it still wont work is there something that i have to do to make it work?

it has to be wired to the tach you have to take the gauge cluster out to really look at it and make sure its wired though. don't you know when to shift anyway lol.

That light will just warn you when you get too high in the RPMs. Like probabbly 6500+ I would imagine. That's not the best way to shift. The motors power peaks somewhere around 4Krpm so you should shift around 4500-5K rpm.

iirc the shift light on manual cars is used for best fuel economy, its comes on at diff rpms based on tps and engine load

If you put a bulb in it and it doesn't work then you will need to wire it.
It only works on a manual trans car tho. (in the prom)
It doesn't wire to the tach, it has a wire in the back of the cluster that goes to the ECM, if it's not there it would have to be added.

Thats how I understand it to work. Mine comes on at different RPMs depending on how Im driving. I've had it come on as low as 2k rpms.

for some reason i just want to see it work i just think it would look cool thanks for all the help im going to try and wire it just for the hell of it
