i recently took my car in cause it was idleing wierd at slow speeds (0-20) and so when i took it in they ran a test on the fuel injectors and they said one side passed and the other side failed really bad, so today when i was drivin i noticed it was doing the rev thing while idling at a low speed but i also noticed my headlights dimmed, so could bad fuel injectors make it so i have a loss of electric power?

 

Probably not, but the low power could cause your low speed idle problem.

 

you may well have bad injectors - which wont help anything. but get your electrics sorted first, sounds like youve got no juice for a strong spark, only once the alternators spinning fast enough ???? hence the hunting ?

well i recently got a new alternator, spark plugs and wires, so i have no idea what it could be, but i do know that my injectors are bad, and when it idles at low speeds sometimes it goes almost low enough where it could die but it doesnt, so could that just be the alternater not spinnin fast enough then??

 

If your motor is idling that slow. It will create the headlights to dim a bit.

I say its more of an idle problem which could be many things. But if someone tested the car and said one whole bank is acting up.. I would suspect a bad ground wire first.

 

Read and remember this saying, write it down and post it up on your wall, fridge, or bathroom wall in front of your toilet if you have to.

"Fix the known problems first."

Fixing what is known to be bad may fix the other "problems" which are probably jsut symptoms of the actual problem.

Did you install them? And, did it fix the problem? I had this exact problem with bad fuel injetors so I replaced them, car has run perfect for the last 40,000miles....i'm now nearing 200,000miles.

 

nope havent got them installed yet, it will be about a week or so before i get them in, i dont have all the tools i need to do it so my friend is gonna help me and we are going to wait until i get the suspension parts from summit, that way we can do everything at once. but ill let ya guys know if it fixes the problem once i get them in

 

My 89 is having the same problems but sometimes it will die when i try to take off. Other than the ford injectors what is the best replacement.
