Carbed 4.3
I am swapping a 2.8 to a 4.3 its going to be carbed, don't ask me why, its not my deal, BUT I need to find a non-computer controlled distributor for a 4.3 is there any 4.3s out there that came stock with a carb?
If not, where can I get one as inexpensive as possible?

Re: Carbed 4.3
The 4.3 l marine engines i beleive weren't computer controlled, so look into getting a dist. from one of those.

Re: Carbed 4.3
there were carb'd 4.3's from the factory in the earlier part of the 80's, however even those carbs used computer control. Your best bet maybe to look to the aftermarket.

Re: Carbed 4.3
You might go to auto parts store and see if a 78-80 malibu w/ 229V-6 would fit. This should not have any computer controls and I believe a 229 was a 305 with 2 cylinders whacked off.

I am not positive. But, a call to summit or jeg's tech line might give you the answer. You could also compare the two physically.

Re: Carbed 4.3
oh....ok, so you are just putting a factory offered 90*v6 in a s-10 not a camaro. I thought you were replacing a 60*v6, with the 4.3L, going for better weight to power and parts per dollar. I am sure you will find better help with this if you post in one of the dime sites. This is the one I fount to be most helpful, "http://www.s10forum.com/forum/index.php" but good luck.
dang this one got me happy then confused, I need a beer.
