Re: will it fit

u can bolt them right on however the fonts may run at full steering lock, not a big deal just dont turn the wheel that far

as far as ur speedo being off did u change the gear ratio in the rear???

if not just stick ir stock tire side by side with the new ones if they are the same hieght ur speedo will read the same

Re: will it fit

ud be surprised how much gearing will wake up a v6.

with my old na 2.8 i went from 3:42's to 4:56's that was fun but a lil execssive

so i droped it back to 4:10's car was much nicer to drive around town and got better gas milage in town

highway milage didnt suffer to bad, i lost about maybe 1-2mpg

Re: will it fit

with an over drive transmission 4:10s are very streetable gears, but 3:73 is the norm most ppl goto for street gears

Re: will it fit

The 16" rims from the mid 80's cars will work fine on your car. The stock 16" tire size of 245-50-R16 is almost the same height as the base car's stock 215-65-R15 tires.

I have a set of each, and have swapped them back and forth on my car. No rubbing when turning and the speedo does not change. There may be 1 MPH difference at 75 MPH, but that isn't enough to even worry about. You'll never notice it.

My rims off of an '85 T/A are marked 'front' and 'rear' so make sure that you get the complete set and put them where they are supposed to go.

Re: will it fit

well im talking deep wise because its like 1.8* the rim width of the 15 do i need a spacer or something and alos the guy at the sear tire store said i should wait to the spring after winter to put the rims on before of the ice and snow this time of year but does it even matter if i just put some all season tires on

Re: will it fit

If you didnt change gears in the axle, you aslong as you stay in similar diameter tire, it should be fine. You may be a few mph off at 70. But around town you wont notice.

edit, also 14" rims wont fit on pbr rears.

Re: will it fit

Actually, 14" rims will fit the 3rd gen disc brake rears without the 1LE package. I have a parts car that I bought a few years ago. It is an '84 model, and had some junky looking and rusted 14" chrome aftermarket rims on there. I thought like you that it just HAD to be a drum brake rear end, but when I pulled the tires off, there were those discs staring back at me! Did some research and found out that the rear end is a 3.42 geared posi disc brake rear! Nice! It may eventually find its way under my 1992 V6.

Re: will it fit

The aftermarket may have made the difference, or I was actually testing stock 14" s10 wheels.... which I thought were the same as stock camaro.

But anyway, they didnt fit. I was going to use them for smokers
