I have a 1993 motor from a camaro to put in my 86 2.8 .i want to just swap the block and use the top in of my 2.8. now my question what do i swap in on the top end what fuel injector do i use the 2.8 or 3.4? cand i swap over my accessory starter from the 2.8 altnater brackets and so on to my 3.4? do i have to remove the heads from the 3.4 or can i bolt the 2.8 intake to the 3.4 heads ? cane i use the 3.4 harmonic balancer ? what about the 2.8 Distributor will it work fine on the 3.4?? what about my 700r4 trans can i use it on the 3.4 ? any other thnigs i should watch out for let me know thank you i hope you guys can anser my question . You need to transfer the intake manifold/distributor from the 2.8 onto the 3.4 w/ 3.4 injectors if you want to use the stock computer/harness, otherwise you need to swap in the 3.4 harness/ecm as well. You can't tune with the 3.4 ecm either, noone's cracked it yet.

really? no one has cracked that ecm? thats really weird.

OP...use the 2.8 injectors, they're 15 lb/hr the 3.4 injectors are 17 lb/hr and will cause it to run very rich.

No you need to use the 3.4 injectors or you will run too lean for the increased CI, it really doesnt run that rich. dont use the 2.8 injectors. basically you reuse your intake, fuel rail, distributor, timing cover, oil pan, exhaust manifolds, and keep your 2.8 ECM. you use the 3.4 balancer, flexplate/flywheel, block, heads.

Use the 3.4 injectors!
Use the 3.4 balancer
Use the 3.4 fly/flex.. if your 3.4 came with the wrong one for your application, go buy one for a 3.1l

I made a post about this along time ago explaining EXACTLY what parts need to be used.

yes the injectors will work with your current wiring and ecm.

Dunno anyone who has had problems with timing. They must have put it together wrong.
